Who We Are
Developed by Educators & Students.
STEM Connect was developed by a group of students studying Computer Science at Stony Brook University. Having all been part of the education and technology industry, we sought to create a platform where educators can promote their services to students across the world. We believe that STEM Connect can help promote small businesses in education, bring more diversity to STEM fields, and connect more educators with students across the globe.

What we want to achieve with STEM Connect.
Promoting Small Business in EducationSTEM Connect is a platform where small businesses in education can promote their own services. This includes individual tutors, the local prep center down your block, and even small programs held by universities and schools. No matter the size of one's program, we want to give everyone a chance to promote their educational resources.
Connecting Students & EducatorsDuring the COVID-19 pandemic many countries instituted lockdowns including orders to stay at home to slow the rapid spread of the virus. These measures have disrupted the normal functioning of education which necessitated the delivery of alternative methods for schools to provide education. STEM Connect is a platform where educators can provide education to students regardless of where they are in the world.
DiversityWe believe that providing more resources will allow more diversity in the STEM field. STEM Connect is a place where everyone (including minorities) can access resources from a diverse group of educators. We want our platform to serve as another place where students can get more resources in STEM fields which will in turn help bring more diverse groups into STEM. We aim to help mitigate the gender gap in STEM and create a more diverse field.
